We're continually adding more crop options based on user demand and available research data. If you don't see your specific crop, you can use the closest comparable option or contact us to request additions.

Soil test results typically report nutrient levels in parts per million (ppm) or pounds per acre. Our calculator automatically converts these values as needed. For accurate results, use recent soil tests (within 1-2 years) taken from representative areas of your field. If you don't have soil test results, we can provide general recommendations based on typical requirements for your selected crop.

Yes, our calculator works with both conventional and organic fertilizers. For organic options, you'll need to know the nutrient content (NPK percentage) of your fertilizer material. Keep in mind that organic fertilizers often release nutrients more slowly, so timing and application methods may differ from conventional fertilizers.

We recommend recalculating whenever you have new soil test results, change crops, or modify your yield goals. For most fields, annual recalculation is sufficient, but high-value crops or fields with variable conditions may benefit from more frequent updates.
